In Silva method, there is a concept of lab and counsellors. Most new Silva graduates face problems like, we can’t see the counsellors or the lab, who are the counsellors, where is the lab, etc. To get the air out of the balloon of your suspense, the lab and counsellors are simply your imagination. Let us go deeper into why the lab and counsellors are required and how your imagination gets the information that you get while working in the lab and interacting with the counsellors.

Remember my earlier blog that our mind consists of 95% of subconscious mind. Assume your subconscious mind as a computer which is connected with a server. The server is the universal consciousness. Everything in the universe is connected through a web of energy which acts as a database for everything happening in the universe.
When we are in beta frequency, our conscious mind takes charge and we interact with the physical world. When our brain frequency is lowered to alpha, our subconscious mind takes charge. As said earlier, our subconscious mind is already connected with the universal consciousness (the database or server). So our subconscious mind gets connected to the source of information and possibilities in the universal consciousness, from where it can download any information or possibility that it requires.

What roles do lab and counsellors play? When it comes to working, we are used to have a place to work in our physical world. From our childhood we go to school where we study. We are given a table and a chair to sit on while in school. At home we have a dinner table for meals, bedroom to sleep, living room for gathering, kitchen for cooking, etc. So the concept of working blindly in pitch black darkness of our subconscious mind is alien to us. So in order to satisfy the need to have a place to work, the lab was created. Everything in the lab is absolutely imaginative in nature. Everything in the lab is an imaginative equivalent of objects in our physical world. Lab does not exist anywhere except your mind.

Who are the counsellors? Counsellors are imaginative equivalent of our computer user interface. Counsellors represent your subconscious mind’s interface with you so that you can interact with your subconscious mind easily. Imagine yourself talking to pitch black darkness, asking questions. Doesn’t make sense, right? Because we are not used to talking to empty spaces in our physical world. So in order to make you comfortable in interacting with your subconscious mind, those interfaces are created. Their task is simply to take your questions, connect with the universal consciousness, find the answers and relay the answers to you.

As with any other habit, as the neuroplasticity works, the more you imagine the lab and counsellors, the more real they feel to you until a time comes when you start interacting with them as if they are real place and real people.
